Document Templates

Document templates help to ensure content consistency and quality. Each document type (except Generic Document) defines which templates are available for selection when users create new documents of that type. If no templates are specified for a document type, users may select from the file types that are registered in Windows on the current computer. If one of the file types is selected, Meridian Enterprise will create an empty document in the vault with the file extension of the selected file type. When the empty file is opened for editing from within the vault, Windows will invoke the application that is registered for that file type.

PowerWeb provides the following templates for documents based on the Facility Document type and Transmission Document type:

• AutoCAD Drawing Templates
  • ISO-A0
  • ISO-A1
  • ISO-A2
  • ISO-A3
• MS Office Templates
  • MS Word
  • MS Excel

For Project Document type documents, the following templates are provided:

• MS Office Templates
  • MS Word
  • MS Excel

Additional templates can be specified, if needed.
